Running an Audit

Configure your audit URL, journey goal, device modes, and launch a simulation.

How Audits Work

GhostClick sends an AI-powered browser to your website. It navigates just like a real customer would — clicking buttons, filling forms, scrolling, and reading content. At each step, it takes a screenshot and analyzes the page for UX issues.

Configuring Your Audit

Store URL

Enter the full URL where the journey should start. This is typically your homepage or a specific product page. GhostClick will auto-describe the page using AI to help you understand what it sees.

Journey Goal

Describe what you want the AI to accomplish in plain English. Be as specific as you want:

  • Simple: "Add a product to cart and begin checkout"
  • Specific: "Find the blue running shoes in size 10, add to cart, apply discount code SAVE10, and complete checkout"
  • Exploratory: "Browse the store, find a product under $50, and check the return policy"

Tip

The more specific your journey goal, the more targeted the analysis. Include product names, specific pages, or form fields you want tested.

Device Modes

Choose which device sizes to test on:

  • Desktop (1440 x 900) — standard laptop/desktop view
  • Mobile (390 x 844) — iPhone-sized viewport
  • Both — runs two separate simulations (uses 1 audit credit)

Templates

The New Audit page includes pre-built journey templates you can click to auto-fill common scenarios. These are great starting points that you can customize.

During the Audit

Once you click Run Audit, GhostClick will:

1

Launch a cloud browser

A real Chrome browser starts in the cloud

2

Navigate to your URL

The AI loads your page and waits for it to render

3

Observe & analyze

Vision AI identifies all interactive elements

4

Take action

Clicks, scrolls, or types based on the journey goal

5

Screenshot & log

Every step is captured for your report

6

Repeat up to 15 steps

Or until the goal is completed or the AI gets stuck

Info

Audits typically take 2–5 minutes depending on site speed and journey complexity. You can leave the page — the audit runs in the background and you will see the results when it completes.

Audit Statuses

  • Pending — Audit is queued, waiting to start
  • Running — AI is actively navigating your site
